Story
During a visit to Malawi in June 2016 as part of a Touchstone team building houses for vulenerable children and orphans I visited Nakondwa School. This is a rural school for over 900 children who all understand that education is the route to opportunity. The children come from very poor families living on less than a dollar a day. They eat only one meal a day made from maize flour, and even that will be a struggle this year after a poor harvest. They have very few resources at the school no water or electricity and yet the are all eager to learn and teachers are eager to teach.
I am committed to raising money to do two things - (1) rent some land so that the school can grow some basic food so that children from the poorest families will not go hungry and avoid school and (2) construct a learning block at the school for 100 children under five which will vastly improve their educational opportunity.
I am doing this theoug the local Community Based Organisation which is licensed by the Malawi Government to facilitate projects like this. The local community will provide the labour for the build and I am raising the amount needed to purchase materials.
Please help help those who are so less fortunate than ourselves.
Many thanks
