Our mum was diagnosed unexpectantly with bowel cancer back in May 2016, she had excruciating stomach pain and after a trip to A&E was admitted, diagnosed, in for emergency surgery and recouperating in ICU within the week. She followed with 6 months of extreme Chemo ending Christmas. After returning for a check up, biopsies and multiple tests she's been told the cancer has again returned. This form of cancer is obviously vicious as is back in multiple places and our local hospital has now referred us to a specialist hospital in Basingstoke!! At this present moment in time she is resting in Basingstoke hospital after having a mild surgery but at this present time is not eligible for the major surgery which could save her life.
She's has agonising pains and cannot work or live life while we await her fate patiently.....
Hopefully the diagnoses is fixable but what will be will be and we'll deal with it as a family, come what may, But, with her turning 60 this year we would all love to send her away on a SECRET! Holiday to relax, unwind and forget about all her issues..... with being out of work she has no income and we as a family have been contributing to help keep her afloat as well as pay out for all her travel expenses and trips to and from hospital as she qualifies for nothing, we don't have the spare funds available. We are not looking for a generic hand out, we want to earn the pennies ourselves...........so on Saturday 13th May, a few of us are going to do the 5k 'Pretty Muddy' Cancer research run at Norwich and are willing to donate 20% of the monies raised to 'Cancer Reasearch' also.
Whether you know our mum or not, to us she is special, she's had a rough few years and this doesn't help and all we want to do is make her birthday special. Please help us do that with even a minimal donation it all adds up.
