A group of amazing people in my home town of Ferndown, Dorset have started up a charity which I have been lucky enough to join. It's still early days and they are working hard to become a certified charity with awaiting their charity number so they can start to help hundreds of people in the local area. With having members of their family including mine who have been affected with breast or prostate cancer. This group of passionate people put together The Fletcher Foundation. And have been for meetings with their local hospital and learnt that even though the NHS does an incredible job there's still equipment and technology that both these departments need but isn't seen as a NHS necessary. So The Fletcher Foundation has been set up to help both the Breast and prostate departments buy needed equipment and maintenance technology that can diagnose cancer cells faster and treat patients more accurately along with many other positives like being able to hopefully see more people in the local area cutting down the long waiting list.
To raise money for something that has effected so many people and members of my own family I will be running 5k in the Bournemouth pier glow run come rain or shine this Saturday 28th January. Not long 😬
Until the day cancer is stamped out let's get the best treatments and resources to fight it!
