This is Andrew's story:

So, as most of you are aware, I'm currently undergoing treatment for Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Last night, due to the chemo, my hair started to fall out. Funnily enough, the loss of my 21year old goatee affected me more than the loss of my head hair. I guess it's because I now look like a cancer patient. The whole experience was more traumatic than I thought it would be, and this is from a man's point of view where baldness is common. I can only imagine how women and children are affected by this dreaded side effect.

Last night I started googling and was surprised to learn how expensive wigs are and that your not always entitled to a free one from the NHS. For the basic NHS wig it costs the patient £67. More luxurious wigs can cost thousands. An average upgrade costs about £200. Therefore, Wigs for Winter has been born. I want to raise money to pay for approximately 10 upgraded wigs to donate to people going through treatment for cancer.

Throughout this journey there is very little I can control. This is something I can do, and hopefully bring a little joy to someone along the way.
