    Story

After taking Strike action on 2nd June PCS unions members working in Eastern Avenue Jobcentre will now be on strike for a further 5 days to oppose the proposal from DWP to close it. They will be on strike from Monday 12th June to Friday 16th June.
Members are fighting to keep the jobcentre open within the community it serves. The announcement from the Department proposing to shut over 78 jobcentres nationally was a disgrace. Many of the jobcentres just like Eastern Avenue in Sheffield deal with the most vulnerable people in society, with many now potentially having to travel further to seek support, paying more for travel out of already poverty low levels of benefit, leaving them with not enough money to even get to job interviews, or to where they might need to seek support. Help us to fight to keep this jobcentre in the community, in Eastern Avenue, Sheffield.
