Story
Penn Street Cricket Club enjoys a very special and unique relationship with The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at Lords. They, in turn, are closely involved in the work of The Foundation of Goodness (FoG) in Sri Lanka.
We will be fundraising for this cause, culminating with a visit to The MCC Centre of Excellence at the end of our tour of Sri Lanka in February 2017. This charitable initiative will reinforce our values as "the little club with a big heart”
The Foundation of Goodness, in partnership with the famous MCC, has developed a Centre of Excellence in Seenigama, a landmark educational and wellness facility to provide village youth with the opportunity to make the best of their own future through education, sport and health, catering to over 25 villages in the region of Seenigama.
The MCC Centre of Excellence opened on 15th December 2007 as the centre point for many of FoG’s empowerment projects. It comprises of a medical centre, women’s enterprise division, environment project management office, business skills development centre, modern computer lab, pre-school, handicraft boutique, the Re-building Lives Programme, English training school, MCC gallery, tsunami gallery, administration office and accommodation for volunteers, donors and trainers.
We would be grateful for donations to this worthy cause. All our tourists are paying their own fares and costs, meaning 100% of your donation will go to The Foundation.
The Foundation of Goodness is not a U.K. registered charity so donations made will not be eligible for U.K. Gift Aid.

7 years agoThank you all so very, very much. With offline donations we raised just over £11,200, that's over 500 essential school packs. Your support is very much appreciated not only by all at PSCC but by the Foundation of Goodness and all who will benefit. Thank you.

7 years agoJust 20 days until we travel to Sri Lanka. We are already halfway there, with enough money raised on here and offline for 200 school packs. Would be amazing if we could donate 400 school packs to this great cause. Thanks to all who have supported so far, it will make such a difference.

7 years agoWith just 6 weeks until we travel, we believe that we have a responsibility to ensure that the funds raised, currently in the region of £5,000 ,are earmarked for a useful purpose. For just £25 you can help to supply a school bag filled with books, stationery, mathematical equipment, crayons, a pencil box, a lunch box, a water bottle, material for school uniforms and a voucher for shoes. These bags are distributed to children and schools which are in desperate need of help. Thank you for your support.

Penn Street Cricket Club has supported a number of charities over the years. We raised over £100,000 for The Lord's Taverners between 1991 and 2001. In 2014 our charity bike ride to Ypres, 100 Not Out (of mind) raised almost £10,000 for The Royal British Legion/Help for Heroes.
