Hi All,

My name is Paul Ockerby, I am 25 years old and I am a Scout leader In Greater Manchester West Scouts.

In July 2018, 9 other Scout leaders and I will be taking 30 young persons all involved in the scouting movement to Malawi in south-eastern Africa. The ages of the young persons vary from 15 right up to 25.

The expedition #MAD4MALAWI (Making A Difference For Malawi) is being organised by Greater Manchester West Scouts who have partnered up with the charity Kasupe. The Kasupe charity was founded in 2007 and there main aims are to promote the good health of children in Malawi, advance the education of children in Malawi and to also relieve poverty in Malawi.

Therefore Greater Manchester West Scouts decided it would be a great opportunity to work with Kauspe on a 3 week project out in Malawi. Whilst out there some of the projects we will be carrying out will involve, water harvesting, building of market areas to increase supply and demand, painting and decorating of local village school and delivering supplies to the village school such as pens, stationary, books etc.

The total cost of the expedition will be around £120,000 and every participant and leader have been tasked with raising £3,000 each. This covers flights, accommodation and food with majority being put into the projects.

To help raise this money we have organised things such as ladies nights, cake sales, raffles, race nights and much more. However we are still have a long way to go.

I will also be taking part in the National 3 Peaks Challenge on the 3/4 June to also help raise some funds to enable us to make a massive difference to people less fortunate than ourselves.

Therefore I would be extremely great full for any donations big or small that you give.
