In 2007 an incredible wife, mother and grandmother lost her fight against heart failure. Jill Wheater had been strengthened and supported for many years by her specialist heart nurse Sharon, funded by the British Heart Foundation. The research and services which this charity supports are vital to so many people. We as a family are indebted to St Catherine's Hospice in Scarborough for the help and care which we needed in October 2007 as Jill's condition worsened and no further treatment was possible. Jill's husband Paul is going to Throw-A-Mile on 19th May 2017 in order to raise money for both of these charitable causes. Using a heavy athletics hammer, Paul will need to complete nearly 100 throws in order to total 1 mile. Following this he will be singing at a free concert in the Spa Pavilion in Whitby from 2pm. Anyone is welcome to attend. We would love to raise some money to help those who will benefit from the amazing services which both these charities offer to those in need.
