Weʼve raised £30 to Rebuild Peceli Methodist Church in Silana Village, Fiji

Funded on Thursday, 2nd March 2017

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

On February 20th, 2016, Peceli Methodist Church in Silana village, Dawasamu District, Fiji, was completely destroyed by Cyclone Winston, the most powerful hurricane to make landfall in recorded history.

The Church stands at the centre of village life, serving the entire village of Silana by providing a source of faith and family for villagers from Silana and across Dawasamu District. The reconstruction of the church would be an important step in helping the community to heal and recover from the devastating losses faced by every member of the village.

Friends of Silana are aiming to raise up to £8000 to help the village to not only rebuild the church, but to build it safer, stronger and more resilient to damaging weather in the future.
