Abour 5 years ago, the Club rebuilt its showers with new boilers & a new shower area with 6 shower heads. The base of the showers was built up with timber to accomodate the drains & covered with a non-slip surface, standard to many sports facilities. The new showers were considered a great success.

During the 2016 season the floor of the showers starting to give way & by the end of the season had totally collapsed in some parts. On opening up the floor, it was apparent that the timbers supporting the floor had suffered from dry rot & had completed deteriorated in some areas.

In consequence, the floor of the showers need to be completely rebuilt. Having gone out to tender, the best price for the work is £3,500 & this work will have to be done prior to the start of the 2017 season in April.

Unfortunately, the reserves of the Club presently are at a low ebb & to fund all of this expenditure would put a great strain on our financial position. We are therefore aiming to raise £2,000 by our crowd funding efforts.

The Club has made great strides in the past few years. Apart from the 3 senior sides, the Colts are thriving & running 5 sides, & the girls section has been a great success running sides in both the South West & Devon leagues. We are passionate about our cricket at Plympton & have built up our facilities with many improvements to the ground, nets & pavilion.

The showers are an integral part of our facilities for all players to utilise. It is imperative that we carry out the repair immediately to remain a vibrant successful club.
