    Story

In 2014 I approached north Warwickshire council to gain authorisation and backing to build mountain bike trails at Pooley Country Park in Polesworth situated just outside Tamworth. In spring 2015 building of a trail began by local volunteers, funding all equipment and materials ourselves. By spring 2016 two trails had been built with an estimated 400+ voluntary man hours put into the project. The council funded and provided suitable information and safety signage for when the trails opened in May 2016.

The end aim of the trails project is to provided fun, local trails for all age ranges and abilities.

With that in mind we are now under taking the development of two further trails which when complete will complement the existing trails providing facilities for a wide range of rider skills from family to advanced.

The past year has taken it's told on all our tools, may have already been replaced and with an enlarging volunteer group more are required.

So we are here to raise money for the following with approximate costs.

    1. Three sets of base tools consisting of a Wheelbarrow, professional standard Mattock pick, Rake and shovel. These sets total approximately £320

    2. A Petrol powered wacker plate £350

    3. Building materials to build 2 wooded structures, a board walk and a wall ride . (UPDATE : We have had lots of donation of material with more promised so will no longer required money for this, so the target has been reduced.)

    4. Addition in-trail signage to ensure the trails are as safe as possible.
    £300

If we manage to exceed our target the additional funds will be invested in future trails for signage, materials and potential plant hire for a skill area in the park.

We have a facebook group "Pooley Trails" which as weekly progress updates on trail building and maintenance. It also acts as a social hub for local riders. Lots of picture and videos so come and take a look
