Anil Sreeram founded the Pragathi Bhuvanum School in 2004 in his local community in India to to provide free primary education to the area's poorest children.

Most of the families living in the lanes of Old Alwal, a neighbourhood in the southern city of Hyderabad, can barely afford to buy water – let alone send their children to school.

But thanks to Anil and his wife, Shoba Rani, many of the community's young people are getting the education they need to help pull their families out of poverty.

As a group, Myself, Adam James, Ilona Mamo, Julie Hardie and Kathryn Kirson are aiming to raise £1050 to sponsor a class of 30 children for a whole year!
