Story
We are raising money in memory of Mikey Twycross who took his own life just after Christmas. We as a club are trying to raise money for a memorial to honour his memory. He was a very popular member of our club and his tragic passing with no warning hit many of us very hard.
Suicide is the biggest killer of men under the age of 50, which in essence is a tragedy. We are attempting to raise awareness for this issue so we don't lose anymore due to this issue.
We will on the shortest night on the year, watch the sun set in Land's End. The run across the country to see it rise over Lowestoft the most easterly point of the UK. The reason we have chosen this type of event is so that even in the darkest of times every man should be able to see the sun rise.
The monies we raise will be divided as follows
34% For Mikeys Memorial
33% For the Samaritans
33% For Andy's Man Club

7 years agoThe run against the sun was a great success and everyone made it across the finish line. The team were met with all manner of obstacles but they battled on and reached Lowestoft in time to see the sun rising. I am so proud of each and every one of them. I would also like to say a massive thank you to everyone that had donated to the page, it means a lot to have your support. Thank you X
