    Story

STAR Bournemouth are aiming to raise £1000 to help support the integration of STAR Bournemouth's local refugees.

Our society has been working and volunteering with local refugee families for the past eight-months, and we've had the absolute pleasure of being welcomed into a new community. It's clear that the support those from refugee background receive can really change their lives. Integration is crucial factor to rebuilding your life in a new society, and learning the language fluently is key.

Therefore we hope to raise enough money to provide local refugees with English lessons. Many refugees we have spoken to have said that learning English will directly help them in securing jobs to support their families. Others say that they wish to pursue higher education in order to work here in the UK, but first need to gain confidence in their use of the English language.

So do something positive today, and be a part of a life-changing cause.

    Your donation breakdown:

Your generous donation will be added together with the total money raised on the night of Rave 4 Refugees. Once we have reached our target of a £1000 fund for English lessons and additional resources, we will donate the rest to Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders)- an international humanitarian non-governmental organisation that gives immediate emergency aid and care to those struct in disasters. Many of the refugees in Bournemouth come from Syria, a country that Médecins Sans Frontières routinely delivers care to its displaced people.

    Thank you!!
