My baby boy Rocco has a congenital heart condition at only 6 months old. On his first trip to Medivet in Dartford, Vet Nuria picked up that he had a heart murmur.

Since then it has become louder and louder until he was seen two weeks ago by Sidney, who said the murmur was so significant he could feel it by hand.

Rocco has now been investigated by a special feline cardiologist who travelled from Devon to see him, with Sidney assisting to scan his heart. We learned today that in the lower right chamber of his heart there is a fixed obstruction splitting the chamber into two halfs and restricting the blood flow, the right side of the heart is enlarged and protruding into the left from working so hard to pump the blood around his body.

Although Rocco is healthy enough now, we have started him on beta blockers to try and relax his heart and prolong these effects but eventually this will have an impact on Rocco's young life.

However, there is an option to refer our baby Bengal to Londons Royal Veternary College for open heart surgery. This will be to remove the tissue inside the right ventricle of his heart to allow the blood to flow more freely.

The surgery carries risk and Rocco may not make it through, or by the time the money is raised he may have deteriorated to not bit fit enough for such a large procedure.

If 600 people can donate £5.00, thats £3000, and I can hopefully stretch the other £2000. This will cover my beautiful boys £5000 surgery for a better life.

If we dont make it, all donations will contribute to prolonging his life with regular ultrasounds to ensure he is given all the treatment he needs, and anything left over will be donated to Medivet Dartford for such outstanding love and care.

Whatever the future holds at least Rocco has always been loved by all
