On the 26th Sept 2016 Samantha was enjoying a day out with her two children, husbad at Gravit8 bouncing around on the trampolines with her girls when she landed wrong and hurt her leg badly. She was rushed to Monklands hosp where she spent a week with her leg in a brace while the consultants decided what to do next. She was given physio but that did not help. it was then decided the would apply a brace to her leg and send her home. She was put onto a waiting list for an operation which requires a full reconstruction of her knee. Finally she received at date to go in for her pre-assesment/surgery but they could not operate because she was running a temperature and had an underlying throat infection. She was advised they would get her straight back in. That was in November...still no word yet. Not without the lack of phonecalls and messages left for her surgeon then to be told she is not priority. In this time Samantha was let go from her full time job which has left her and her family doing everything they can to get by. On Sunday 30th Jan Samantha the was coming down the stairs aided with her crutches (from her bedroom) when she fell and slid down stairs and knocked her leg off the wall. She called NHS 24 to see if there was something other than "elevating" her leg she could do. She was asked to attend A&E as this was a new injury added to an existing. She was taken to WGH and was advised she was to be kept in and put on pain relief.The very next day she was seen by a consultant who said "I cannot step on you assigned consultants toes, we will have to send you home" WOW!. We advised her to call her consultant and lay down the law. She did this again to be told "these things happen" she is not the only person on the list with these problems!! We have xontacted bupa and been advised the op costs £5500. So what I am asking if any you could spare any donation to help get my oldest friends back to normal for her girls, hubby and herself this would be greatly appreciated
