The Birnbeck Regeneration Trust is a Registered Charity which has been operating since 2004 who work to improve the community in the area of Birnbeck in Weston super Mare. The team is made up of volunteers who come from a diverse range of ages and backgrounds; the trust encourages everyone to be part of Team Birnbeck as without the volunteers we cannot deliver the vision for the community.
Our current project is to save the 149 year old derelict and neglected Birnbeck Pier which is Grade II* listed and is the only Pier in Europe which leads to an island. The pier has been closed since 1994 and is in private ownership. The trust has agreed a long lease with the owners once funding and planning has been approved. The trust volunteers a working continuously to raise the required funds to build a Heritage Lottery Bid, and with over 55,000 people signing a petition to save this national monument as a team we must save her for the future generations.
