The reason I am setting this up is because I have young kids that play football every week and they love it so much that I feel it would be appropriate to give something back to the community and help out at Grassroots level by either sponsoring an event or funding much needed training/match day equipment.

My sons team is Sedgley Scorpions U10s and as with most youth football teams, it is run without profit by a team of volunteers who give their time and effort for the benefit of young kids. I also care about the direction of football in general and grassroots football is where it all begins.

The difference to the kids is almost immediate. Better equipment, better facilities can only aid the kids development. I would like to say you may see the next Messi or Ronaldo emerging from humble beginnings but the reality is, even the legends of the game had to start somewhere and most likely came from a community funded boys club.
Kids need these kinds of things in the community but they don't fund themselves. They need help.

Training equipment etc. It's a real eye opener to see young kids with a love of the game but perhaps their parents can't afford boots, shin pads or tracksuits for their kids. This is the kind of thing i would like the money to be used for.
