On Tuesday I set off on a 21 mile hike to the top of Glastonbury Tor carrying a rucksack of my old uni books. I set off at 8 in the morning; on the way I encountered rain, mud, blisters and many kind well wishers. I finally made it to the top of the Tor just before sun set. Thank you to everyone who sponsored me. Combined with the money raised online as well as cheques received and money put in the collection bucket we have reached the £750 target which means we can send all 15 boxes of books to the girls supported by Create Change in Ghana!

Thank you to everyone who came down to the book themed quiz at the Apple Tree Inn, Shoscombe on Sunday. It was a brilliant, literature, fun filled night and combined with the donations raised from the 'guess how many books competition' we raised £214! Next week I will walk 21 miles from Peasedown to Glastonbury Tor carrying a rucksake of books and will also announce the winner of the guess how many books competition. So please keep guessing and giving so that we can send all 15 boxes of locally donated books to disadvantaged girls in Ghana.

CHARITY BOOK PUB QUIZ AT THE APPLE TREE TONIGHT! Fed up of the rain, wanna get out the house? Come down to the Apple Tree Inn, Shoscombe tonight for an evening of book filled fun, with a quiz, a competition and prizes! Have fun and help us to send 15 boxes full of locally donated books to girls whose education is supported by Create Change in rural communities of Northern Ghana. On Boxing Day I did a practice walk to Wells. When I first decided I would walk 20 miles to the top of Glastonbury Tor carrying a ruck sake full of old uni books I thought that I wouldn't prepare and would just wing it on the day. How hard can it be I thought, people walk miles everyday; a lot further than me and often in difficult circumstances, but...after speaking to people who have done similar challenges I concluded that winging it may not be the best plan. 3 weeks for the skin on my feet to grow back before I do the real deal!
