This June I am travelling to Atlanta in the USA for 4 weeks as part of a voluntary project I have recently been accepted for. I will be representing the organisation; 'Soccer in the Streets'' who have been supporting young, vulnerable and unfortunate children/teenagers from all over the globe since 1989. I wont be traveling to America for 4 weeks for a vacation or to put my feet up, I will be going there to coach kids football (soccer) who have been brought in by the organisation. I will be coaching 5 times a week, around 4 hours daily in a heat which in June is usually around 40 degrees and will be getting involved in team building activities and employability classes!!

The young people I will be coaching will all have originated from different backgrounds, will be of different age groups, would have lived within different cultures and will all have their own unique story. Almost all of the young people I will be coaching will be refugees and have immigrated to the states without their families so as you can imagine, the young people will be upset and vulnerable. Education is a system we simply take for granted heavily and almost all of the young people I will interact with will be without an education and have never stepped foot in a school so helping these people is something I will value for the rest of my life and will be very grateful for!

I think we all take most things In life for granted, including myself and I think for the majority of the time we should think about ourselves and do what's right for us but I also think that there's a time or times where we should consider the life of others and do something that will help them and make the world a fairer and less corrupt place!

The money I am donating will go towards the family who will be looking after me for the 4 weeks I'm there, will pay for my travel, insurance and an additional £50 will go towards the organisation for them to provide the people with new equipment and better facilities!
