My name is Solomon Olutayo and I am 12 years old and in year 8. I am currently raising money for a World Challenge expedition to Morocco with my school in April.

World Challenge offers the opportunity to go travelling with a group of like-minded students who want to become more globally aware, find life-long friendships and develop key life skills like confidence, teamwork and leadership.

Part of the World Challenge ethos is to ensure that we experience cultures and environments very different to our home country, so on our expedition to Morocco, we will be getting involved In charity and community work, like building schools, water pumps and planting vegetables for local children.

This will bring me an appreciation of the challenges facing other cultures and will help me to develop a wider perspective on life.

We will also be doing exhilarating things like white water rafting and climbing to an altitude of 4,167m, by trekking up Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa..

Taking ownership and responsibility is at the centre of the World Challenge learning experience. That is why we have been challenged to raise the £1990 cost of the expedition ourselves and is why I would love your help.

To raise the money, my challenge is to swim 100 kilometres in ten days. This means I will swim 400 lengths a day, which is 4,000 lengths in total.
