THE ROOTS OF “THE ROOT”

Jordan’s brother-in-law, the lovely Alex Mwangi (also known as Kenyan gospel artist Zangi) family are based in a town called Naivasha, an hour from Nairobi. Through our family members living in Naivasha, we heard of several projects that the local community would love to see funded, including a community centre that allowed the children to do their homework and a library.

The Records on this side of the pond decided to get together and form a charitable trust (‘The Root’), an official fund that the Naivashan locals can tap into in order to employ local Kenyan architects and the full design team and construction workers and everything else that the local community decide is needed to deliver the initiatives that have been decided collaboratively within the community (with minimal input from international sources).

This is a fund very dear to our hearts and we would be so very grateful if you were considering donating some coppers towards this instead of purchasing us a wedding gift to help the fund start building up so that the locals can start to get to start making visions a reality!
