Tiegan was born at 27 weeks gestation - 13 weeks / 3 months early! As a result of being born so prematurely, she ended up with Periventricular leukomalacia (PVL).
When we were initially told Tiegan had a brain injury, we were advised to prepare ourselves that she would be in a vegetative state. Thankfully with lots of perseverance and determination, that is not the case.
However, Tiegan does have cerebral palsy affecting her lower limbs. This means, at 2 years old, she is unable to sit herself up, crawl, stand or walk.
We have found a fantastic physiotherapy service locally, and Tiegan has attended one 3-week session with amazing results. Unfortunately, we do not have the funds to sustain her attendance.
