Story
With Christmas fast approaching you'll probably be shopping for food, presents and generally sorting out the festive season.
The temperatures outside are plummeting and night times now are bitterly cold.
Why am I waffling on you might ask.. Well, for the past few months I have made friends with a homeless man called Mitchell. He sits just up the road from where I work in Knightsbridge, he does fabulous artwork which he tries to sell.
I always stop and chat with him, maybe buy him a coffee and something to eat.
I got him some cold and cough remedies when he was poorly and a new hat and gloves which cost me only a few pound out the biggest smile on his face.
Last week when I saw him tho he was particularly down but since I had my son with me he said we could talk next week.
We did speak and he told me that not one person wants to try and help him get housing. He has been living in London for many years and has paid into our tax system , has 5 years worth of proof to back it up, however not 5 consecutive years, so he now has to see a solicitor to see if anything can be done.
He is the loveliest person and I can't bear the thought of him spending Christmas on the streets. he doesn't drink alcohol but was feeling so low last week said it might be better if he did.
I have told him that I'd like to help out and get him into a hostel over the Christmas period which in total will cost in the region of £100
I really think the Christmas season is about the giving and putting a smile on the face of anyone who really needs it.
I have set up this justgiving page to help this Christmas be a memorable one for all the right reasons for him. If any of my Facebook friends or family could spare just a few pound to help this happen I would be ever so grateful and I know it would mean the world to Mitchell.
I would like to raise £200 which will cover his hostel stay and some food.
. I genuinely want to help someone in need.
Thank you
Tracey xx

7 years agoWOW.... Thank you thank you thank you... Total raised £290... I'll hopefully see Mitchell on Tuesday and with the extra money raised since I saw him just before Christmas I'll be able to either get him back to the hostel or see if there is anything else he would like to use the money for. Wishing you all a year filled with happiness and good health xxx
