i am currently undergoing tests for fibromyalgia and Lupus. It all started 19 months ago I contracted acute pancreatitis, the doctors gave me a 25% chance of survival. Spent the next month or so in ICU. I lost 90% of my pancreas and now have t2 diabetes When I was freed, I spent the next 5-6 months recovering. Went back to work for a week before being rushed to hospital again. There they found a cyst where my pancreas had been the size of a rugby ball I had that drained slowly and was in hospital numerous times with sepsis. Eventually recovered but things were never the same again. As time has gone on slowly my knees and joints started hurting more and more. This eventually led to me losing my job after 11 years. So lost my health, my car and my job and nearly the house. Also lost 2 cats that died during all this! Well, the past 4 months have been bad being reduced to getting out in a wheelchair but in the past 8 weeks have been reduced to bedbound status, unable to use stairs of have a shower or get to hospital appointments. Social Services say the waiting list for anything to help mobility wise is 18 months. My washing regime consists of my wife spreading out a plastic sheet on the bedroom floor, me sitting on the commode and having a wipe down wash. I feel grotty and dirty and generally horrible. I'm verging on suicidal and this has really lifted my spirist because it's given me hope of some dignity...
