£1,290raised of £1,500 target by 45 supporters

Weʼve raised £1,290 to buy new equipment for the University Rowing Aberdeen project & support the Denis Law Legacy Trust: Street Sport

    Aberdeen, United Kingdom
Funded on Friday, 23rd December 2016

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

University Rowing Aberdeen are doing a SPONSORED ROW on Friday 16th December 2016 outside M&S on Union Street (St. Nicholas St.), Aberdeen.

The money we raise will go towards buying new equipment for our University Rowing Aberdeen project which is a partnership between Aberdeen University Boat Club and Robert Gordon University Boat Club. We are also proud to be supporting the Denis Law Legacy Trust Street Sport in this fundraiser by granting 20% of all proceeds we raise to the trust and keeping the funding in sport and in our city.

The Denis Law Legacy Trust currently operates and delivers a number of ‘free doorstep’ activities and programmes across Aberdeen City and aims to raise funds to support the delivery of helping young people take part in and gain access to sport and other creative activities within their local communities. If you are interested in finding out more please visit: http://streetsport.org/denis-law/

We will be rowing on the ergometers from 8am - 6pm, where we are attempting to complete the last leg of our journey from Aberdeen to the North Pole - which if we stick to our target in the lead up to this event will be just over 400km at the start of the day. Over the next few weeks we will be adding up the mileage we complete in training to reach this.

The rowing club provides opportunities for students at both Universities in Aberdeen to both compete and take part in a great team sport. To do this, we require equipment & coaching which costs money.

We are delighted that 20% of all money we raise through both the street collection and this JustGiving page will go toward Denis Law Legacy Trust and Street Sport, with the biggest impact being had in Torry up the road from where we train. The rest of the money we raise will go towards a buying new equipment for our boat clubs.

Please get in touch with any questions and we will do our best to answer them. Thank you!
