Weʼve raised £235 to Reopen our Community Centre

    Poulton-le-Fylde, United Kingdom
Funded on Wednesday, 14th June 2017

    Story

Vicarage Park Community Centre (VPCC) was formed in January 2014 by members of the local community in Poulton-le-Fylde. We are raising funds to restore, repair and develop a former Church Hall and turn into a community hub for the benefit of all sections of the local community.

The building has been closed for three years and is now in a very dilapidated state of repair. We need to raise a minimum of £150,000 in order to restore the fabric of the hall to a safe and useable standard. To put it back at the heart of the Community, which love it so much.
Last year marked the Hall’s 90th birthday. It is a much loved Arts and Crafts style building that had been in continuous use since it first opened as St. Chad’s Church Hall in 1925. Before it closed it was the focus for a wide variety of community activities and was quite literally the ‘heart and soul of Poulton-le-Fylde’. We have successfully raised over £30K in our first year with local fundraising but we need more and are determined to try to re-open as soon as possible - we need your support so that we can bring back life and love to the Hall with community services for the old and young, energetic and infirm, those that want entertaining, educating, social interaction, celebrating etc, etc.
Please help and donate to our cause.

A massive thank you to those who hve donated already. We really do appreciate the support you re giving us, to reach our goal of reopening the hall. Today marks 4 years since The Chaddeans were holding their last few rehearsals in the hall, for what was the last show in the hall before it closed. So a little video, thanks to the wonderful Bethany & Amy https://www.facebook.com/amy.parkinson.31521/posts/10158464701715327

Hi I live on Grange Park. I can't afford a lot as disabled sorry. I shop every week in Poulton and my son goes to Baines. I think it's awful that such a beautiful building is closed.

I have been a Trustee of the VPCC since January 2014. As a young teenager I used to attend the hall on a regular basis with the local drama group. Several of my family have also been previous users of this hall. I believe this is a vital asset in our community that needs saving!
