Venkat is 43 years old from Chennai, India and was working as a Project Manager in North West UK.

What was a regular/normal fine morning in Aug'16 turned out to be his worst nightmare when he started spitting blood while coughing. Later that week after going through a number of tests, Venkat was diagnosed with Oesophageal Cancer and has been on Radiotherapy since then.

Despite going through Cancer treatment himself, Venkat continues to work as he is the sole bread winner of his family and also has to support the medical therapy for his 6-year-old daughter in India who has been diagnosed as Autistic for the last 2 years.

As Venkat’s current contract has now come to an end, he does not have the option to stay in the UK and is returning to India in May 2017 where he has to fund his own treatment for the cancer which he cannot afford. Venkat needs the following treatment in the next 4 months without which his prognosis is very limited.
1. Ongoing Radiotherapy
2. Chemotherapy
3. Initial EMR (Endoscopic Mucosal Resection)
4. Oesophagectomy
5. And finally, due to the advanced stage of his cancer, he will also need a stent put in as he will have difficulty swallowing

Venkat's wife is a full time carer for their Autistic daughter and is devastated hearing the news about her husband's diagnosis and extremely stressed not knowing how they are going to fund Venkat’s treatment and support their Autistic daughter
