We do not have a wedding list at John Lewis etc, because we don't really feel that we need anything in particular. We are simply very happy that you can join us to celebrate on Saturday 16 September.

But if you still want to mark our wedding, we would like to ask you to consider making a donation on behalf of some family members who cannot join us.

Emily Anna Burgess was born on 16 June 2008.

She died unexpectedly just three months later. The fact that she lived for such a short time does not make her any less loved or missed -- especially by her parents Jackie and Alex, her brother and four sisters.

In her memory, we would love to raise enough money to buy a bench at the Isle of Man Children's Cemetery. It is a beautiful spot visited by her brother and sisters every year at Christmas and on her birthday. But at the moment, there is nowhere for parents or family members to sit quietly and reflect. In her memory, we would love to change that.

We would also like to help Hope House, (http://www.hopehouse.org.uk/home.html) a children's hospice which provides an invaluable service to families whose children have severe disabilities or terminal conditions.

Victoria's sister Ellie has Jacobsen Syndrome. This means that she has specific physical and learning needs and so will not be able to attend our wedding. Although Ellie will not be with us on the day, we know that she will be wonderfully looked after at Hope House.

Also unable to attend on the day will be Stewart's sister Lisa. She was born during a time when charities like Hope House did not exist. No family should be as unsupported as they were.

As such, anything that you are able to give to help families in similar situations to ours would be hugely appreciated and of supreme value.
