I am a final year medical student.

In April this year 2017 after completing finals I hope to go abroad to Vietnam to work in a children’s hospital called Benh Vien Nhi Dong 2 (children’s hospital 2). By doing so i hope to raise money alongside, for the Nhat Tam Charity. This is a great honour and will give me first-hand the complexities of working in a children’s hospital in places not as privileged as we are in the UK. The charity I will be fundraising for has provided meals and food for as much as 1,500 patients and their families at the hospital I am volunteering at. We are very privileged here to have a healthcare system that is very organised, and is able to cater well for the needs of the children.

To take up this valuable placement I will need to raise £2500 worth of funding to cover costs and provide toys for sick children (see below). I hope to set up a scheme similar to the one I helped set up in the UK, in Vietnam, as explained below.

I helped organise a scheme where as a society, we go in small groups of medical students onto the paediatric wards within a hopsital. Our aim as is to increase the child’s quality of life on the ward, and provide toys to play with and conduct activities.

I urgently require some donations for us to buy toys, and in doing so we also would like to raise money for the charity described above that works close with the children’s hospital. This is where your donations are vital. Anything you can give will allow us to get toys to keep children in hospital entertained and let them be kids again.
