    Story

This special fund has been created in memory of Fi Braidwood, from Banwell, North Somerset, who died aged 17 at Southmead Hospital on the 30th of March 2016, following a car accident in which she sustained a serious head injury.

Fi loved learning and in her honour, we are creating a Fiona Braidwood Education Fund that will enable young people to enrich their learning, both locally where Fi herself studied and further afield at Durham University where Fi had ambitions of studying.

Almost a year has passed since we lost Fi, she will always be in our hearts. To mark the first anniversary, we are coming together on the weekend of the 18th March to Walk for Fi and to raise funds as part of her living legacy.

When she was just 13, Fi completed the Ten Tors Challenge, a gruelling 35 mile hike on Dartmoor over two days, camping on the top of one of the Tors.

In her memory a group of family and friends are recreating this challenge, walking the route that she completed on Dartmoor. The majority of us are not experienced walkers, but have set our own challenges and goals as we support each other along the way.

Please think about us walking as you remember Fi and send a message of support. We really do appreciate and value all the kind donations made towards our living legacy for Fi.
