Whitley Bay Cricket Club is a small community club based in the Hill Heads area of Whitley Bay. We currently run three teams across Saturday and Sunday fixtures and have approximately 40 active members. We have small club house situated at our ground which is used by all members for match days, family social days, charity matches and club events.

Over recent years the club house has unfortunately become both a target and a social gathering point for youths who drink illegally and for vandals. Broken glass, smashed bottles and remnants of fires are often found outside the club house making it both untidy and unsafe until the mess has been cleared - which is a regular occurrence. More recently the club house has also been broken in to on more than one occasion costing the club thousands of pounds to both repair the damage and replace stolen stock and club items.

It has become increasingly necessary to improve the security of the club and as such we need to erect a secure fence around the immediate perimeter of the club house to deter intruders and vandals and our goal is to raise the required funds to do so. Being a small club with limited resources it will be impossible to self fund this essential maintenance.

The funds will be used to pay for the materials and installation of the fence with locale gates which will be of huge benefit to the club and its members as it will enable us to keep a clean and tidy club house which in time will hopefully welcome and encourage more members and family members to the club. In time our goal is to start a youth team however with the current situation this will be impossible to achieve.
