    Story

The Churchwardens and PCC of Wiggenhall St Mary Magdalene Church need to raise (in the region of ) £50,000 to restore and refurbish our wonderful Medieval Stained Glass. Our beautiful building has the largest collection of 15th century stained glass figures in Norfolk. There are about forty of them, scattered in the upper lights of the north aisle. They are a rather specialist collection, and not easily identifiable, because rather than familiar Apostles and Saints they mostly represent Bishops, Archbishops and Popes. More than a few of them are unique representations in the county, and perhaps in the Kingdom.

Past generations and ourselves have enjoyed the beauty of these windows, but if they are not refurbished soon, they will not be there for future generations to see and love as we do now.
People from all over the world come to visit our church, many to see the windows, so....we will be putting on various events and activities to help to raise this money.

To start the ball rolling, Chris Hale, one of the Churchwardens with her Pomeranian 'Hugo', and Mollie a 14 year old member of the Family Service congregation, are going to do a 'sleep-over' in the church on the night of Friday 30th June.

It's the last few days for donating towards these beautiful old windows. The 'sleepover' raised about £700, plus whatever we get on here. We know it is a 'drop in the ocean' but every penny counts, and we have other events planned in the near future to boost the funds. Thank-you to all who have supported us thus far, may God bless you. From Alan and Chris (Churchwardens of Wiggenhall St Mary Magdalene Church)
