Story
Hi everyone ,
My name is Zoe and I am a 17 year old Underwater Hockey player, playing since the age of 6. I have trained locally at Duckinfield baths and Manchester Aquatics for the past 11 years, improving my skills and developing my passion for the sport.
In 2015, I was lucky enough to be selected to represent Great Britain in Castelon, Spain, at the CMAS world championships on the GB girl’s U’19 team, being the youngest member of the female squad; improving my character and confidence within the sport. I had one of the best experiences of my life which encouraged me to trial again for the GB team.
For the past 4 years, I have dedicated my training to the GB selections. I have been on a strict training regime to allow me to remain fit and have the correct nutrition in order to reach my fitness peak for world championships. I balance studies and training together to make sure I do my best in both. The training is hard work but it is so much fun!
In January this year, I got the exciting news that this summer I will represent Great Britain in Tasmania at the UWH world championships in the women’s Under 23's team. I am delighted that my hard work so far has paid off. However, it does not stop here! There is much more intense training to do to make sure that I at my best in Tasmania. Alongside this I have to start fund raising to help cover the cost of the tournament fees, accommodation and flights as currently UK sport do not provide any funding towards the UWH GB team, with the total price reaching approximately 3 thousand pounds. My parents are funding all my training camps along with all my kit and will partly fund the Hobart trip in conjunction with this I have also found myself a part time job to help with the cost of the trip.
Any donations to help fund this trip would be a great help and much appreciated.
Many thanks
Zo!
