A Jamm For Nokip !

Paul Crawford known as Paul Nokip was our friend, and we here in Nottingham greeted and treated him as one of our own; his presence was further elevated by his amazing and wonderful partner, Poppy, who is equally loved by us all. Paul was taken away from us last week in a car accident and the passing of our brother is felt within the people and the places he touched.

He slung tunes as a guest for DiY and Smokescreen, and was part of the mighty Deep Cartel, our friends in life and music in the southwest.

Paul had that rare gift in a person: he was never in anyone’s else’s business, people were not currency to him, to go about securing friendships on the back of any knowledge of them. His own brand was himself, and what you got was a beautiful soul, who loved Poppy, Toby, Oli and Caitlin dearly. He did not have to sell himself; simply because everything about the man was readily accepted, and you were never disappointed.

Distance and the state of the world, keeps us from giving all his friends and family the deep understanding hugs and face to face words that come at a time like this.

Times are indeed changing and though we are at a distance, we would like, with every love and respect, to help Poppy and family at this most tragic and heartbreaking time. We have set up a page, ready to accept donations towards the cost, so we can help send Paul off and also show our love and thanks for his company, friendship and music.
