My family's home has been affected by Hurricane Irma as it hit Tortola, BVI, few days ago.

As seen in the picture (and my bad drawing), the entire 'B' area has been destroyed - It has literally been ripped away -this included the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. Area 'A' is what remains of the house and includes the living area and my parents bedroom.

Although the foundation is secure, the entire house is exposed. Therefore, we have lost most of the interior as well as its' contents i.e. -furniture, clothes, appliances.

We only managed to salvage the most important things and we are grateful for that.

About 80% of the island (Tortola) is destroyed and thus access to building materials and basic supplies is almost non-existent. Therefore, this fundraiser is aimed to begin buying supplies for the rebuilding of this home and the money will go towards purchasing and shipping of materials.

I am currently a student in the UK, and will be the person responsible for this fundraiser. This is very important to me as it is my home and I would like to make it habitable again.
