(We have reach a level that Aaron can use and doesn't want to overreach the generosity of the community. Thank you everyone for your huge support. You are amazing and caring.)
If you don't know Aaron already, he works at the Larder House on Southbourne Grove. He works hard and works late serving food and cocktails.
Like most people that work in hospitality, they don't leave until the early hours of the morning. His bike was not only his transport home, but it was what he did on his days off.
Unfortunately his bike was stolen over the weekend of the Shake and Stir Festival, whilst he was working. It was locked up securely within the premises as well.
I created this crowdfunding cause to help him along the way to replacing his bike.
The reason why I am doing it is that I see these young people work really hard, take on the unsocialable hours so we can have a good time out, they grow in stature and grow in confidence, and extoll the virtues that many bemoan as lacking in the younger generation.
OK, I've gone off tangent a little bit but suffice to say that Aaron is one of those who actually "got on his bike" to find work.
(If Aaron's bike is found/returned in full working order, then the money will be donated to the Shake and Stir Festival funds.)

6 years agoI've not heard back from Just Giving, but the money minus their fees has landed into my bank account now, so I have no hope of getting refunds done via them. I have a spreadsheet to go through, so let me know how to get the money back to you. Some of you can I just hand over in person. I know I said at the bottom that if the bike was found then the money would go to Shake and Stir, but for absolute transparency let me know either way as fine to refund or to donate on. Really no pressure on that front. Contact me via JustGiving or Facebook.

6 years agoErr, just had a message from Aaron to say he got his bike back. He say a couple of people with it and asked them about it. He was able to prove it was his and got it back. Anyway, I am checking with Just Giving about refunds. I know I said that monies would be donated to Shake and Stir if the bike is found, but would prefer to get the money that you had donated back to you in good faith. I am waiting to hear back as I haven't had the money anyway.

6 years agoGuys you did great and we mocked up a little bit of fun when handing over the funds raised. Aaron is hugely grateful and I know he will put back into SoBo where and when he can. The person who created the cheque put my name on it but it really is from all of you.
