People try to save their very last paddy from the flood in Haor Area
'Around 171,115 hectares of Boro rice fields in Sunamganj, Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Kishoreganj, Netrokona and Brahmanbari were submerged by flash floods, affecting about 300,000 farmers and causing them a loss of at least Tk1,700 crore'1 recently in Bangladesh. My family is one of them. In Hoar area, the paddy fields remain under water for half of the year and in dry season, the farmers can only grow paddy to feed them for the whole year. This year in 2017, the water came too yearly prior to the harvest time and flooded the whole area of 7 districts of the Hoar Area of Bangladesh. The people in Haor area have no food for the whole year ahead. We seek your help to survive for the whole year with regular meals only. Plz help us.
I am a student of Lund University, Sweden and currently doing my thesis work in Bangladesh. At present, I postponed my thesis work and trying my best to find a job to support my family (as they are affected too) in their very worst situation. I want to help my community with this initiative with your support.
Here I attached few new links of this disaster:
