Story
So I have decided to go 31 days without alcohol this October – saying no to the booze and yes to raising money for kids in need of education in Nepal.
Children in disadvantaged communities are most at risk of missing out. This has to change. A friend of mine is doing a fantastic job in supporting kids in Nepal get their basic education. Her determination in helping kids by giving them a chance to write their own futures is very inspiring, a cause very close to my heart. My mum grew up in an orphanage which always made me appreciate small things in life.
I love going out and having drinks with my mates, so for me this is a huge commitment. All worth it in the end I am sure when you know you are contributing towards a better world. Also on the agenda is giving the liver much needed rest and looking after my personal well being.
I request you all to support me in my cause by raising a glass (of water) and standing proudly beside kids in need of education.
Please see link below for more details on the work done by my friend Shikha.
