In 2000, I met Richard Hurford the farm manager when we bothed worked for the probation service and was soon introduced to Lydia Otter CEO and Pennyhooks farm. At that time pennyhooks was a mobile caravan in the corner of Richard and Lydia’s garden. I remember being impressed with their work and loved the feel of the farm and knew this was something i wanted to be involved in and support.

So 10 years later when i became a mum to Alex, things became clear. Alex is austic and Lydie and Richard have been a huge support pre and post alexs austism diagnosis.

We are very lucky, and have had the priveledge of going to Pennyhooks once a week. Alex loves the rythem of the farm, and has been able to build trusting relationships with Marie who works there.

We are going to do a sponsored swim to raise money for pennyhooks. We aim to swim 30 Lenghts between us as there are 30 students who come to the farm every week.

Alex can swim 6 length and aims to swim 10

Leo can swim 1 length and aims to swim 2

Abi can swim 12 lengths and she aims to swim 18
