Through a company called World Challenge, I have signed up to take part in a 4-week educational expedition to Costa Rica, which will involve trekking through Monteverde, San José, Orosí and up Cerro Ena and working on a community project. The community project will involve Turtle Conservation fully engaging with an issue that the country is facing working alongside passionate local people and organisations who are seeking to make a positive impact. Also going into the towns to share our information about the subjects and home life with the locals. We will have a Tree Planting day which we will be travelling to Santa María de Dota where we will calculate the carbon footprint of our entire expedition and contribute to offsetting that carbon by planting indigenous trees in the areas surrounding the town.
