- Bath, UK
- Closed on Thursday, 11th October 2018
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
We wholly believe that people living with a disability are capable of anything, they might just need to find an alternate means Achieving their goals in life. We are passionate about communicating what life is like for someone living with disability. However, we want to challenge our perspective on such things, yours and mine! For that reason we look at both the challenges, which are very real, but also the opportunities. Some of the ways that we are currently pursuing our passion is through different projects we have launched under this brand, 'Life With Ability.'
Physical Education Lessons
This service is a whole day event where students will have the chance to try out wheelchair basketball within their Physical Education Lesson. The Students will be coached by Grade 2 coaches who will create a training plan that will cover a wide range of skills such as:
- Communication - Listening
- Team work - Leadership
- Self confidence
The day will be spent coaching 5 year groups, this will be a year group for one hour before changing to the next group. The session will consist of a warm-up activity, this it to introduce each other and for the students to get used to the wheelchair, Main Activity, Match.
How much does the service cost to produce/deliver?
Costing will be £300 per day with South West Scorpions taking £100 for the hire and maintenance of the sports chairs and providing a website for this said events to be published on and life with ability contact details listed on here. Life with ability can either invoice South West Scorpions for the £200 per school session, or invoice the school and then South West Scorpions will invoice Live with ability for £100.
Life with Ability will be responsible for getting their own public liability and sorting out the delivery dates and organising the hire of the vans needed for transporting the sports chairs (recommended a VW transporter or ford transit size van). If Life with ability cant deliver a session for any reason then that company is responsible for re-organising the session with the school.
What is the FUTURE growth potential for the service:
In two to three years we would be looking in to franchising this service so that it can be delivered in other parts in the UK. This will happen by hiring Ability Reps that can manage the company on a self employed basis. The company will provide the rep with all the material and branding that will be needed for the service. Life with Ability would then take 40% of any income that is made in the area.
