Weʼre raising £6,000 to Help my friend fund a replacement car to help her carry her autistic child to school and specialist appointments.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
My friend was diagnosed recently with an autoimmune illness. It has impacted her ability to work full time. She is not well enough to work now. On her way to a medical appointment, she had a road accident. The car is written off. She could no longer afford the right insurance anymore, so the insurance company wont replace it. She still has to pay for the car. She is lucky to have escaped with her life. Fortunately, her child was not with her at the time.
Her child has complex medical needs, and autism. I understand her situation. The car helped with school runs and specialist medical appointments. Kept calm from meltdowns and safe.
She said “This accident has shaken me, I feel broken and so sad because financially I am stressed to breaking point. I wish I was still well and could work and manage everything like I used to. I’m behind on all bills and the loss of the car wiped me out completely. It’s getting colder and the meltdowns and screaming on the bus is traumatic for them, and other passengers, especially the ones who don’t understand her.”
As an autism parent, I know people stare and comment when our children melt down. These comments are largely negative. It makes a stressful situation worse for the parent. But also teaches the child negative words about themselves. Psychologically, it’s extremely damaging.
I’d like to ask if you would consider helping me to support her.
