The Advent Sessions is an uplifting celebration of live music in challenging times for the residents of Hanover, Brighton.

This is the second year the Advent Sessions will run following on from its success in 2020, when we saw a year unlike any other: Covid-19 and the resulting lockdown have seen the need for people to connect in as many ways as possible. What could be more uplifting than listening to live music from the safety of your doorstep?

The Advent Sessions will see live music created by the Hanover community, for the community, played from the security and warmth of everyone’s own homes and doorsteps. Every night from 12th - 23rd December at 6pm, one musician will perform a 'treat for the street' in a short uplifting session for their closest neighbours.

The Sessions bring neighbours together to safely listen to live music and connect in what is still a distanced world

Donations will be split between participating artists, many of whom have still not seen a return to normal levels of work since the pandemic started, the Hummingbird Project (a Brighton based charity standing together for the rights and protection of young refugees) and the work of Flock Theatre Makers funding free community arts and music events across Brighton & Hove.
