Story
In August 2017, my dad was given just hours to live, after collapsing with kidney failure, but thanks to the wonderful staff at the QEQM, Margate Hospital Intensive Care Unit, he pulled through. Although he does need dialysis 3 times a week for the rest of his life & is not eligible for a kidney transplant due to other health issues, he is now pretty much back to his old annoying self, thanks to their amazing skill & abilities in the ICU ward!
It is because of the staff in the ICU & their amazing work, that I have decided to raise funds for them by doing something absolutely crazy & well out of my comfort zone, especially considering I hate flying & heights (so a double whammy there!) - I will be participating in a tandem parachute jump.
I will be doing this on Sunday 17th June with Skydive Northwest in Grange over Sands up at the Lake District. Why i have chosen to do this I have no idea, a moment of madness i think, but it is for a great cause!
I am also hoping to give £75 from the donations raised here, to the League of Friends at Margate Hospital too as Linda from there, has been an integral part of helping me set up & contact the hospital for fundraising. So this is a team fundraising page, so please give generously.
As you can see by the photo, i completed the tandem jump, but i am still collecting donations for this great cause up until the end of July as i want to get as much money as i can for the ICU as not just for what they did for my dad last year, but for what they do on a daily basis for others.
The sights i saw in the ICU last year & the compassion the nurses had with each family, i feel that this unit deserves as much money as we can give them, so please dig deep & let us provide as much as we can to help make the unit more comfortable for these families & the unfortunate patients who happen to be staying there.
Many thanks for your kind & generous donations.

6 years agoOn Sunday 17th June I faced my fears & jumped out of a plane at 14,000ft! It was one of the scariest things i have ever done, but it was for an amazing cause. Looking at the target on here & the money raised on paper sponsorship it looks like i have surpassed my £350 target, so thank you to everyone who has donated, but i am keeping my crowdfunding site open until i have all paper donations in. I'll accept sponsors until the 31st July when I'll take the money to the QEQM ICU & League of friends, so please keep donating to this amazing ward.
