On 04/04/2018 my grandfather Haji Haroon Raja died at the age of 88. As one of the pioneers of the Zakariyya Masjid in Bolton, he played a vital role in forming the foundation of the madrassah. He was one of the mosques first muezzins,, inviting people to salah and success for over 40 years

To commemorate his many years of service, I have decided to participate in a 10k marathon in order to raise money to build a community well in his name.

I will be running this marathon alongside my good friend Amjad Akhtar who also lost his mother Nasreen Akhtar on April 25th of this year. We would therefore like to build 2 wells in total in loving memory of both losses.

These wells can serve around 1000 people where access to clean water can transform the lives of many.

Each well is 1.5 metres wide and can draw water from around 10 metres or more underground. This would provide enough clean water for families, livestock and crops.

Both Amjad and I would appreciate if you can help us to reach our target so that we can help to provide clean water to those in need of it.
