Story
I've had problems with my breasts since 2010, but even so the cancer diagnosis at the beginning of the year was a massive shock. I blamed myself for not making a bigger effort to have a healthier lifestyle, as I told myself I should have known better, because I am a nutritional therapist and acupuncturist.
After several confrontational hospital appointments and tests that made my breast lump larger and sorer I became quite deflated with the NHS treatment of both me and my cancer. I wanted a more supportive team of people around me. Given that I firmly believe my body can heal itself in the right environment, I changed my approach and took my life into my own hands. I researched on the internet, went to workshops and read books, but ultimately became overwhelmed with the amount of information and where to start. I seemed unable to be objective about my health in the way that I could be with the health of my clients. I had so many questions, "Should I use B17, and if so how much? Would CBD oil be useful and where do I get it from? What about going to a clinic specializing in cancer care?" I decided to enlist the help of a doctor in London to guide me along my journey. And now came the biggest questions, "How can I afford the route I am choosing?" and " Where will I get the money from?"
Two lessons that I am having to learn very quickly are:
1) recognizing that I am not perfect and that it is OK for people to know this (you already do :)) and
2) to ask for help and know that I am not a failure by needing to do this. The universe will always provide, but I need to ask first, so please help me and donate money to my healthcare.
This £6000 is to pay for my first two doctor's consultations including medical testing and interpretation of the results, and also set up costs for essential equipment to make my journey easier and more effective. After my treatment plan is established, I will once again be asking for your help.
Thank you for being part of my journey.

7 years agoA massive thank you to everyone who has sent me messages of support and for all the donations. This will go along way. Yesterday I began a new challenge - 30 hot yoga classes in 30 days, so it will be a mixture of Bikram, Fierce Grace, Absolute Hit Yoga and Power Yoga. Very excited to be doing this and it will be a challenge doing 60 - 90 minutes daily if yoga in heat and humidity. The plan is to sponsor myself, but I have not quite finished organising this and to set up a blog page journaling and passing on info regarding healing naturally.

7 years agoI want to say a huge big thank you to everyone who has donated so far. I am always amazed by people's generosity in these situations. People who I don't know and people who I have not been in touch with for years... I am so grateful. Lots of wonderful memories are attached to everyone who I know has donated - it has been quite an emotional process. My justgiving account is open for another 3 days, so if anyone was planning on giving, but hasn't as yet, now is the time to do it. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
