We are raising £25,000 to make empowering, inspiring climate education accessible for all.

Our goal is…

🌎 to unite a global community through world-class climate education;

🌍 to catalyse action to ensure a liveable future;

🌏 and to make the case for global access to climate and nature education undeniable.

Your support will go towards...

• Building an international network of young changemakers to deliver climate and nature education to audiences around the world.

• Translating lessons and learning resources into a minimum of 20 global languages (and cultures).

• Promoting and delivering AimHi’s climate course internationally.

• Funding small local film crews to capture stories of positive change through education around the world, and creating a film to launch at COP26.

• Hosting a live educational session at COP26 for leaders and decision makers, with young global changemakers joining virtually from around the world.

This is a not-for-profit project. A maximum of 20% of this funding will be spent on AimHi staff (though they are important too!). NONE of the money raised will be spent on air travel.

THE PLAN

Project Drawdown ranks Education in its top 5 of over 80 solutions to the climate crisis, with a potential sequestration of over 80GT CO2e (i.e. a LOT of carbon) over the next 30 years. Whilst the methodology for this calculation requires assumptions, it exemplifies the power of education to deliver large, sweeping transformations.

Delivering effective, relatable climate education to millions of human beings would change the course of history. This is what we intend to do.

AimHi has brought together top-level scientists, educators, behavioural psychologists and expert storytellers to create a course covering everything you need to know about climate, nature and how to make a difference.

We are now creating an international network of young changemakers to adapt and deliver AimHi’s climate course to highly diverse communities around the world. We are already working with our key global partners YOUTHTOPIA in Indonesia and beyond, and other partnerships with Purpose in Kenya and Poland, the Māori community in New Zealand and BottleDream in China.

The young changemakers will be directly involved in adapting the course, both linguistically and culturally. In doing so, we will bring together different perspectives and creative responses from multiple countries, demographics and ages. We will also ensure our content is adapted to be relevant, engaging and useful to audiences from different places, cultures and contexts.

We will also invite the young changemakers to co-host sections of our course virtually at COP26. We want to showcase diverse, interconnected communities sparking real, exciting change in response to empowering education, and make the case to leaders at COP26 to prioritise climate and nature education.

We have some initial funding from Purpose and the Climate Lab, and we are managing to do a lot with a little. However, our ambitions exceed our resources, and we know that we have something that could transform the world at scale. Our goal is to inspire a global movement of world-class climate education.

Developed by climate communicators, scientists and psychologists, our climate and nature course is backed by Cambridge Zero, the Eden Project, Thoughtbox and Reboot the Future and scaled internationally via our partners YOUTHTOPIA, Purpose, BottleDream and others. The UN Environment Programme has been promoting the course too.

Our approach is highly impactful, with 96% of attendees reporting feeling more confident in talking about the climate and nature crisis after completing the course.
