Our little man Hamza 4 years old was diagnosed with a rare chromosome disorder, Smith Magenis Syndrome in April 2014 at 11 months. Born with congenital cataracts and had eye surgery at 4 months. A rare genetic disorder we'd never heard of, whilst this was a huge shock to my husband and I it was also a very difficult time to accept this was reality and we now have a child with a disability and things weren't going to be easy. Although Hamza is an amazing little boy, affectionate and joy to be around he does have a disability which has a huge impact on our daily lives. Hamza has self injurious behaviours, sleep disturbances, no speech, not walking, visually impaired and also a metabolic disease. Hamza first attended "Cobtree play school for special children" 2 years ago and will be leaving in July to start school in September. He has thrived there and loves being there, majority of the people are volunteers and the nursery is charity run. I cannot thank everyone there who given the children so much love care and attention like their own. I would love to raise as much money as possible before Hamza leaves to help continue to run the nursery for many years to come and help many other children with disabilities/addition needs.
