I am going on the World Challenge expedition in July 2017, a 4 week trip to Southern Peru which involves a series of challenges and tasks for myself and my team and it has been organised through my school, Charterhouse.

Please help me raise funds for the expedition as well as for charity. I would be very grateful if you can support my cause and make a donation towards this purpose. The cost of my trip is £4,000 and I am looking to raise an equivalent amount for charity as a minimum, making a total initial target of £9,000. You will understand the reasons for my choice of charity being The MacMillan Cancer Trust.

The first phase will prepare me physically and mentally for the entire expedition. It will allow me to acclimatise to the food, the culture, the language and the altitude. I will spend time making arrangements for the remainder of the expedition i.e. buying food, making bookings and meeting agents or expedition contacts. I will need to organise myself, recover from the journey to Lima and do provisioning for the expedition. I will embark on some trekking to prepare me for the next two steps of the challenge. Phase 2 will take form of a long trek in the high mountains of Peru. In order to get through this I will need to be super fit! Phase 3 is the project phase and the aim here is to do practical work that is of some benefit to the country. I will be helping a local community or organization and will involve myself and my team in some form of conservation, construction or cultural work. The aim is for the team to wind down and have some time to relax at the end of the expedition. This may involve rafting, visiting the coast or jungle exploration. In addition, there will be lengthy bus journeys (i.e. 24 hours or more) in order to achieve all of the objectives.
